Hello All,
I know this has been discussed before, but just to clarify, does a Sportline anti roll bar just bolt on instead of the standard one, using the same mounting points- but different bushes. I.E. off with the old & in with the new!

Has anyone done this upgrade to just the front and not also the rear? -will it reduce oversteer , but increase udersteer without the matching rear spotline anti roll bar?

It?s just that I need a new bar (mines rubbed waists at the mount points), a standard one from the dealer is £40 and a sportline one £60, plus bushes plus VAT! Only problem is if the spotline one does not fit they will not take the part back.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Orlando,

I can confirm the sportline antiroll bar fits but the 4 bushes are different and must be sportline items. The brackets are the same, but you may want to replace them if the old ones are rusty.
As for fitting at the front only I would say definitaly not! It may make the car oversteer, very dangerous. However perhaps someone else out there has tried it?

Hello,

I haven't had any personal experience on the subject with a W124, but as a rule of thumb you can say that when you stiff up the front you're bound to get more understeer. Personally, I wouldn't go for that setup because despite the satisfying levels of grip, the W124 already understeers a bit too much for my taste.

Now The Rear?

Hello David & Gonçalo,

Thanks for the replies.
Looks like I require the rear anti roll bar as well to keep it all balanced.
Is it the same situation for changing over the rear anti roll bar to Sportline -same mounts, different bushes?

As an experiment I Might try just changing the front bar to see what happens. I have already upgraded all the other bits in the suspension -the aforementioned under steer has been considerably reduced. I'm interested to see what happens with this change!

Cheers for now
O.
