My trusty and ageing steed is due its MOT and its steering is getting a little bit of play, I have checked all the steering components and found that there is a small amount of slack in the drop arm bearing at the steering boxes output suggesting that the bearing is getting tired.
I do not have any information on the box so any info on its internals would be appreciated and any sugestions regarding adjustment or repair would be most welcome, can anybody tell me what the adjustment nut/screw atop the box does?
Thanks in anticipation.
