124 Wiper mech noisy

My old 88 230e s wiper is starting to make noise just at the last couple of inches of wipe at either side. Can this be lubricated before something packs in?

Hi Mike
Remove the cover carefully (some just pull off by grabbibg sides, some have screws).
Lubercate with good (high Temp) grease, rather than oil.

Cheers Pascal, have some copper grease will use this, doesnt seem to have screws.Will have a go later. Sorry for posting in wrong topic.

No problem Mike,

Its a kind if grey area 'Wipers' (as other items) so if its not an eletrical problem with wipers it goes in here (I think:Oops: ). With nearly everthing in modern MBs relying on electric (engine, gearbox, brakes etc), unless it a specific electric or vacuum problem it doesnt go in electric. Air con/heater & radio etc go in electric also.

Does the wiper arm have any play in it (beyond a few millimetres)? I just mention it as that adds noise and of course it indicates that the linkage arm
with the balljoint fitting is wearing.
