hi
I can only get hot air from my heater, the air con is not conected but even on cold on dials I still get very hot air. I checked the voltage to the heater valve and it was only 3 volts, i prewsume this should be 12 v.
any ideas.

Each valve closes at +12V. Pins 1 & 2 take 12V from fusebox. Temp wheels at min give 0V on pin 3 (right) and pin 4 (left). You can test valve by:
- pins 1 & 2 to a known +12V (e.g. a fuse)
- pins 3 & 4 to a good earth

With engine warm and running, this should give ambient temp air through the heater. Best doing it with full blower and giving it it time to run cool.

If this works the the valve is OK but there's a problem elsewhere - could be int. temp sensor/aspirator, heater matrix temp sensors, temp control wheels, heater control unit or wiring.

Happy hunting.
