A dry soldered joint in the OVP relay would be my first check

Not so much that Malcolm, but having replaced my ABS/ASR module, and accumulator to no effect, I now have the electronic throttle actuator being rewired in the US as we speak - all in an attempt to solve the damn ASR issue!!!

Cost of new parts from MB for that lot - around £8500!!!!

Needless to say I haven't gone down the new parts route :D

Its always hard checking the OVP relay with out a pin break out box, there can be 4 outputs on the 9 pin

Not sure about the 92 model but my 93 doesn't have the OVP relay....

100% certain. I even bought one in the early days and then when going to fit it discovered it didn't have it. Has the "computer banks" (N1/6 modules etc) up at the screen, passenger side.

As far as I can see you cannot have ASR without an OVP relay K1/2 on the bulkhead

Nope - well, you know far more than I do about these things but there is a bank of perhaps 4 or 5 modules tucked up by the screen on the nearside. N16/1, N4/1 spring to mind - one of these is the ASR control. No OVP relay on the bulkhead. Promise.

Remember Froome's First Law of Mercedes: The only absolute rule with W124s is that there is no absolute rule

An R129 is a W124 in drag so the same rule applies
