My aerial seems to be curved and I'm wondering if it needs changing as it is getting slow to extend/retract. I have tried greasing it ( I know how to do that) but no major improvement.

I was thinking of replacing it with one from an R230. It looks as though it will fit but is there anything I need to be aware of as I'm expecting it to be a straight swap?

Hi Helen,

It wont be a straight swap i am afraid, You can buy replacement masts, they are very easy to fit and only cost about £20 if i remmember.

Ellsy Tanners is correct and they are easy to change, they cost more than £20 now but they are on Ebay

Do not oil them

They are a totally different fitment, your 129 has a mast which recoils into the motor and linked direct to the radio by a aerial lead, the 230 is just a small end pice which the signal is then amplified by a seperate amplifier unit.

Shame because it would look well smart

Look at the very top of the mast. It will have something written on it (ie h04). This will be needed when ordering new mast.
