television...this one you can help me with?
my sl500 has a starter lockout. ive done a quick fix on it today.

all ignition lights on but no start pulse to exiter wire at starter motor. I have checked ignition switch gives pos.
relay above pedals in driver floorwell is where i have checked. if i bridge out the relay outputs the car starts on the key as it should (at moment is bodge fixed with wire wrapped around output terminals. i have checked the relay.
i have pos on input pin but no neg signal... do you know what this is for? or where signal comes from (pin numbers if poss anyone)
i have ruled out neutral switch as engine will start when in p or n. wont in gear.
i think its something to do with immobilizing circuit as everything else seems ok and car drives fine. i have no info on this unit or where its located.. help?
i did read something about wipers doing silly things which mine is doing as well. just hope its not one of these expensive multi relays thats giving me grief... i cant:-? afford it!

that relay over the pedals is the K38 starter lock out relay, this is wired in serries with the alarm, so it will be the relay in the alarm that is not releasing.

to simplify on the wiring the relays are all live +12v as you have found and the relevent circuit just grounds to complete.

Do you want to know where the alarm module is.

yes please. save me crawling all over my car!
also, as i mentioned, the wipers are sometimes stopping on intermittant. are these controlled by a multi relay? or any pointers?

re the alarm lockout.. i replaced batteries in fob a few weeks ago. opened the door with infa red ok but has stopped working again...works fine on key in lock. i havnt had time to re check etc.
red and green on door handle seem normal.
i have some keys from my old 140 s class here which i demolished. can these be re programmed for my sl? any pointers would be good.

This confirms that it is an alarm problem.http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GA=722.607&CT=F&cat=44F&SID=82&SGR=525&SGN=23
I do not know the chassis number for your car, the diagram is foe a late 129.
If you want to be exact go to

http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb0.asp?TP=1

find your car Via VIN then go to center row and then electrics.

Have you tested the remote ?

the wipers are controlled by the N10 relay box, thats the big one up front, normally cleaning the contacts and fuse holder solves this, the box though may need re flow soldering.

I do feel that you must concentrate on the remote to solve your problem.

129 infa red key fob

ok. remote is working fine again to unlock doors .(these things are great fun to get apart)
the fault was the 4 solder joints had dried and the switch had fallen off. Easy fix .
all doors lock/unlock on remote again.

i had 2 remote fobs with the car. i cant get the 2nd one working. (this one is dragging the voltage down to approx 3v (wired remote to new external batteries to make it easier to test) anyone know anyone who fixes these? or i could just go to mercs and buy a new key.
im a bit miffed that the new keyfob from my 140 s class wouldnt program to this car, unless i was doing something wrong.

I still have an alarm fault . it doesnt arm. (no light on cockpit switch after 20 seconds after locking car)
hailsones and a stinking hangover stopped me today
thanks for the links television, quite a useful site.
