I bought and fitted some AMG V wheels and tyres from an SL55 owner who was upgrading. They seem to fit and run well. But I was told recently that MB say they will not fit. How can that be. I checked with alloywheelsdirect, and they said they should fit but may need a spacer. Are there any drawbacks to using these, as they look so nice, I would hate to go back to the old ones if I can help it. Ps, what about tyre pressures for the new wheels. How do I find out what they should be....thanks guys

the drawbacks with spacers are two-fold

you need to get hub-centric ones, which aren't cheap. I bought four Eibach 15mm ones and they cost me about £130. Then you will need longer wheel bolts if you are going to use them, as the standard bolts you have won't grab enough thread to keep your wheels on. You can have them tailor made for about £30 quid. And then you'll need longer locking bolts as well.

How much of a spacer do you need?

Just checked with alloywheelsdirect. They said the should go on fine, but may need a spacer, and will need longer bolts!
