Can someone please help, my 12 volt outlet socket has stopped working, i have tried to find the fuse in all 3 fuse boxes but i have had no joy, someone told me it was the same fuse as the interior lighting but that still works.

I have a year 2000 (w reg) W210 E320 CDI. Can i bypass it as i am going to Italt tomorrow and my daughter will kill me if i can not get her dvd player working.

Regards

Have you checked in the tool kit area to see if there is a fuse chart.

On my W210 the cigar lighter is fuse 2 (15Amp) in the fuse box under the bonnet by the bonnet hinge on the drivers side. It is listed on the fuse designation card in the lid of the fuse box.

My info was for cars built up to 09 99 after then as Blobcat and number 2 where fuse Number 1 becomes a spare

Here are a couple of pictures;

The card has either fuse 2 or fuse 5, there is nothing in fuse position 5 on mine;

It does not have the cigar lighter fitted just the 12volt socket, which is the fuse and relay box A is that the one under the bonnet, there are fuse diagram cards explaining which fuse is which in the fuse boxes but none states the 12 volt socket.

Thanks so far more info would be greatly appreciated.

There is no separate fuse as far as I can see, it would make sense to be fuse 1 or 2 dependent on when the car was built

Hi

I like to replace my cigar lighter socket which have the ceramic base. I think it had shorted. I am unable to find the part number. Does it come as part of a console or I can change that part only. Is it rivetted together?

My car is C220 W202 1994 model.

Thanks

I can't speak for your specific model, but genrally on most cars the socket should come out of the console. You may get a shock at the dealer price - you may just be able to substitue with a "halfords" or similar after market fitting - but I'll let other say yay or nay for sure
These were quite common in the motoring shops a few years ago, before cigar lighters became standard rather than optional fittings
