140 swb uneven tyre wear rear

hi i have a 2001 a140 swb and the rear tyres more so the nearside rear have worn uneven on the in side edge,its done 31000 miles have been to mercedes and they said to get new tyres but does enyone know of a problem with the rear ,to couse this uneven wear......thanks

tracking? get a "geo check" done - proper 4 wheel laser alignment, not a simple tracking job - cost at least 50 quid and takes at least an hour.

do you mean that the tyre is worn uneven ACROSS the tread, ie the inside is worn and the outside isnt - or that at some points of the inside are worn and others arnt?

the former means tracking / alignment, the latter means knackered tyre / shocks / wheel bearing etc etc

mine was pulling to the left a bit too much, turned out the spring was broken - aparantly a common problem - 50 quid (80 dollars? each)

worth checking.

Having seen your car, I must say that the rear end does sit rather low... as if its either been dropped or the springs are worn.

This would effect camber and unless adjusted, would produce the symptoms you describe.

I believe there are adjustable camber arms available.
