My 300TE is due for a 144K service, and I have had 2 quotes so far. One from Andy (cheers!) and one from MJ Warner in Gloucester. Andy has quoted me some £50 less than my dealer, a reasonable saving. However I am faced with the drive to Brum, leaving the car all day and wandering the streets of Brum till it is completed. Anyhow, still not decided which way to go but bearing in mind that Brum is a 240 mile round trip and a tank of fuel is around £50, it looks like the dealer will get the business...
On to my real reason for this post. I want to cut down the cost as much as possible by supplying the parts and consumables for the service. As the 144K service is a biggie, what parts are required and exactly what does this service entail? I can then source the parts and consumables I need. I was charged £15 once for washer fluid that the car did not need and later found the unopened bottle behind the seats!... BTW, Andy is a much more pleasant person to deal with than Warners, so do not let my penny pinching put you off using him. He and his team offer a valuable service if you are willing to travel....Or live in Brum.
