Hi

First time posting on the forum.

On braking I am getting a strong vibration through the front of the car (noticeable through the steering). If I am braking hard from say 60 mph the vibration is pretty fearsome!

It feels like a warped or cracked disc (rotor) but before I go & buy a pair of front discs, I thought I should double check there isn't another cause of this on Mercs ie front whell bearing or wear on another part of the suspension.

The car does a very low milage & generally only gets used at weekends. It has done 108k miles (not sure if discs are originals) The problem seems to have come on suddenly & I am not aware of the discs being overheated etc.

Any tips greatly appreciated!

If it's as bad as you say you need to jack up the front of the car and check for rock in the wheel bearings and for any play in the suspension components and steering joints, then take off the wheels and visually check the discs for any cracks or abnormal colouring on the braking surface which would indicate distortion.
The solid discs fitted to your car only have a wear allowance of 2mm total so if there is any lip on the outside edge of the disc I would say it is time for new discs and pads anyway.

The disc have warped, don't cost much from GSF or parts co and easy to fit, and all of that shaking will go.

Thanks for the advice. I will jack the car up & have a good look. From my previous experience it feels like warped discs, but just thought I would check.

Cheers
