Whilst farting about on EBay last night,I noticed a 1985,Merc 190.2 ltr. 110k miles, fair amount of history, slight dent in rear o/s quarter, great interior.
It was only 4 miles from me and had met it's reserve price so...........................it was all mine for £102!!
Don't know wether to keep it and sell the 200T,sell it on for a wee profit or use it for track days at Knockhill. The agony of choice,eh?
After it's been given a good service,I'll decide what to do with it.

Anyone got any recommendations for improving it if I use it for track days? (My brother is in the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and uses a 1998 2.0 litre 145 Cloverleaf TwinSpark and I'd like to better his lap times using a 20 year old 190)

Cheers
Ian

The decision (190 or 200T) is yours, but you have an excellent opportunity to compare and contrast the two. It would be worth running the 190 for a little while, to see if it develops or uncovers problems which would be costly to sort. Then again, the burden of taxing and insuring will eat into your finances...

I have a similar decision to make, I need to decide between a 1990 230TE and a 1976 (W114 series) 280CE. Do I go for the practicality of the estate, or the elegance of the coupé? Decisions....

Paul, tough choice re your Mercs, both are very nice versions of Stuttgarts machines!

Ian, how can you have a 1991 200T? Surely in 1991 they were all TE's?

At any rate guys, let me know if you sell the TE's.

190 2.3 Cossie or later 2.5 should destroy his lap time
