Hi all, my H reg 190 is very low at the front, recently passed MOT no problems, but if I go over pothole or big bump in road I hear a noise out of front off side spring, had quick look at front springs and they don't look cracked, any ideas ?
I only have the car a few months so I guess it could have been lowered at front but I would rather have it back to normal.
Also, my air con doesn't work, anybody know a good place near Derby where I could get it fixed at a reasonable price ?
Don't think I will manage any fix to front suspension, so any good garage recommendations in Derby area would be great help too...

suspension

Hi GoG, firstly it could be a silly thing like the spring moving or twisting in the strut, If fitted properly it should not do that!!
Secondly, It could be a ball joint on the suspension lower arm, that being the case renew straight away. Had one pop out on me once, lucky i was only doing 10mph it was more ("embaracing" spell check) then anything. see what happens is you lower the susp and put on tough shocks not thinking about the stress it puts on older steering or susp parts of the car. Oh yeah my MOT was 4 weeks old so be carefull
As for air con COME ON this is england and its nearly winter LOL
stoke the fire more like
Good luck

merc 190 does not have springs fitted to the struts or shockers they are an independent item between the lower wishbone and the inner wing
