Hi folks, Ive owned four 190's all of which have suffered from an intermittent squeal from the heater fan. However my latest a G reg 2.5 Diesel is the worst. Almost all of the time there is an irrating squeal, so loud it can be heard outside the car, the heater can be switched on or off and any vents open/closed. Whilst trying to adjust the slider Iv'e now broken it! so the heater control sometimes works but it is really hit and miss. Anyone with any ideas please.

to get at its the mission! you need to go in from under the bonnet by removing the firewall ect...for more info on the whole procedure just give me an instant msg :)

i forgot sumthing!

a cause for intermitant problems with the selctor in my merc was related to the ignition....

when the cars running and the heater is switched on but not working try giving the key in the ignition a tiny wigle
