190E 1988 Heater Blower Replacement

Any one done this job, is it really necessary to remove the engine bay bulkhead to replace blower motor. Max

Put aside a wholeeeeeee day....hehe

To get at the blower motor what you need to do is remove the firewall in the engine bay...to do this you need to undo all the nuts surrounding it, it pops out when pushed toward the front of the car and upwards. Take note you need to take off the air intake to do this. Next remove the leaf tray for the wind screen this is held in by two spread clips (you remove the centre "spike" and the rest of the clip pulls out. Next remove the wiper assember by undoing the 4 bolts. The blower box is the big rounded grey plastic box....about 8 inches accross. From there on in its plaing sailing....well errrr yea, lol unless u find another problem on your way...allow AT LEAST 4 hours...that is the bare minimum to do this job....it took me about 6 to 8 hours.....

Im not sure if my instructions are 100% accurate as its been a long time since i did this job....
