Hi Guys
I still have a problem with my 190e on starting,it will run for 15/20 seconds and then die completely on restarting it will do the same, after 4 or 5 attempts it will start and be fine untill i stop the next time.whilst running for the 15 or so seconds the revs will fluctuate of there own accord between 600 and 2000 rpm.
I really would appreciate your advice.

Many thanks Tim

Possibly over voltage protection relay or fuel pump relay, both are next to battery behind plastic flap I think. Do search for "OVP" and also "erratic idle" on this site. Best to get known good OVP relay unit and check that first. £50 ish. Bad OVP relay causes cut out and erratic idle. Bad fuel pump relay would cause cut out but more randomly and anywhere anytime. Sounds like OVP as it is crucial in starting according to what I've read. Has your ABS light been coming on randomly sometimes? If so, probably definately faulty OVP relay. If no ABS light could be something else. Search for more clues.

Problem solved

A new OVP solved the problem,be aware the new part (from merc dealer) looks slightly different in that it has two 10amp fuses on top and has two extra pins (9 instead of 7) i was told this has superceded the old part and it works fine,£51.99 +vat part no MA201-540-37-45.

MANY THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP
