[sorry but reference to "virgin" only refers to this being my first post to the forum  ]

There are a couple of matters on which I'd appreciate some advice:

1. I'm having four new tyres fitted on saturday and have booked an geometry check. The car is fitted with a mercedes sportline suspension kit and i wondered to what degree is the suspension geometry adjustable and what are the optimum settings?

She currently sits on M-B 12(?) hole alloys and 205x55x15 P6000 - to be replaced with Toyo T-1 s

2. Can anyone recommend an idependent specialist in the west london area as car is coming out of company ownership/care and i'm d*amn
ed if I'm going to pay dealer prices for inexpert service

Thanks in anticipation

Wot no replies at all!

Good Grief I'd have had a least 10 on the forums for my other cars. What's the issue with M-B owners ;)

Interesting to note from the tracker that there are lots of "takers" but no "givers" - shame on you :(

The only place I've used in London was in Rainham, bit east London though.  I dealt with Elite, they fitted a set of Eibach springs on my old 190E and fitted good value tyres.  I was very pleased with their service, quick, professional and you have a gallery to watch them thrash your car with a hammer!!  ;-)

Hope that helps....

Hardly a very nice way to put it considering you are asking others for help.

Here's some suggestions (no recommendations).

Lymington Motors, Park Road, St. Johns Wood. I have used them, cost me a fortune, good service.

There is a company that advertises in Mercedes Enthusiast, based in Wimbledon, Merc-Ethusiast took their car there for a tune-up, they liked it.

Boxter Motor Company, out near Heathrow, claim to be a BMW & Mercedes specialist

Merc-Star, based North London, they will collect your car, if you can't be bothered taking to them.

Finally, resident expert Andy Gayle has a very reputable garage that most of us here would like to take our cars to, however he is based in Birmingham!

I hope this helps.

Hi David

With regards to the wheel alignment check. If they know what they are doing they will have the relevant info. Make sure they check and adjust camber and castor. Before they adjust the track.

As other have said look in the owners magazine otherwise visit us in B'ham where we have all the relevant equipment info & expertise.

Regards
