Hi Guys,

The other usual MB sites have been sketchy on help here, so I'm hoping you fellow UK guys can help more.

I'm very close to putting a 3.0 engine (the M103 from 300e) into my '86 190E 2.0.
I know it's been done many times before, and is easy as it's the same block as in the 190E 2.6, have a fully kitted independant workshop in Gloucestershire at my disposal, and am working out exactly how to get it in first. I've measured the dimensions in my trusty 214,000 mile 300TE 4-matic and it will fit okay, I think directly on to the existing mountings. Transmission would need to be changed though. Currently I'm working on radiator mounting -

Does anyone have any pictures from around a 190e 6-cylinders' engine bay? Any pics I can get my hands on would be excellent.

With 188 bhp in standard trim, it should move pretty smartly, be nice and torquey, and make a nice noise too! I'll be there at the next meet to show it off too ;-)

later
