190e auto gear change

for some reason on my 1.8 190e auto ...gears shifting up seem jerky and only change at high revs...seems to be worse in E mode ? anyone else had this ? could this be a quick fix or is it serious ?

hi 190e-nut, there is a vacuum pipe comming from a T piece at rear of inlet
manifold going down back of engine, make sure its attatched to switch on side of g/box
