190E brake problems.....bleeding or master cylinder?

Hi, new to this excellent forum and I have a problem with the brakes on my 1990 MK2 190E.
The brakes `went` a while back-foot went to the floor and needed pumping to pull the car up.
There was no sign of any fluid leakage and the master cylinder was up to the correct level so I had them bled but alas the problem returned almost immediately.
Is is fair to assume there is a problem with the master cylinder and if so where is best to get a new one? Do Europarts supply good quality units or is the local Merc dealer best option?

GSF do them for about 56 pounds. So I guess Eurocarparts would be much the same. Prolly half the price of a dealer priced item.

Sounds distinctly like master cylinder. I had that on a few Fiats, problem was the master cylinder seals. The cure was to remove the master cylinder and replace the seals but its a lot of troouble and you need to be sure it's the seals and not the master sylinder. Next best is to replace the master cylinder. I would not be recommending an MB dealer though, expensive and they don't stand over their warranty. New one from Eurocarparts is a good route.
