hi
im a new member ive been looking for a low mileage 190e.
ive looked at one recently 79000 miles with 18 stamps but no other history.
1989 nautic(i think)blue with sand checked cloth switchable auto air con electric windows and sunroof original stereo.
problems are as follows
right hand side of bonnet there is a rectangular patch of lifted paintwork the owner says that this is because of the lacquer lifting and it getting worse from there.would there be any more serious reasons for this?
dent in rear wing on side size of 10p is this easy to sort the paint is not broken.
the flat face alloys look fine except the nuts look corroded.
rear passenger side section of bumper is quite scratched is this easy/cheap to sort?
there is a little bit of visible rust around the aerial is this likely to be worse than it looks?
apart from some scratches the rest of the body is good and the interior is like new and it seems to drive really well.
it is up for 1800 pounds what do you think?
should i wait for a better one?
is there a 190 buyers guide?

£1800 is steep - particularly with the bits you mentioned. I'm on the lookout for a 124 model (old E-Class) but found some really clean, well maintained 190's for almost half that price before switching my preference.

There seem to be quite a few 190 posts on the forum with tips on buying them and what to look for. I'm sure you'll get a few responses on this thread too.

I had a 2.0 190E auto for a few years and it was a fantastic motor. There are plenty about and I'd suggest you look at a few more.
