190E - Dashboard Lighting has stopped working

The dashboard lights have stopped working on my 1988 190E, I have checked and replaced the relevant fuses but all were ok - could it be a problem with the dimming switch and how could I test it?
Any ideas or comments on other possible causes/remedies will be greatly appreciated.

I am not familiar with the detail of your model.

Had you been doing any work on the car prior to the failure?

On my cluster, once pulled, there is a 'hidden' fuse at the back of the instrumnet panel itself. It is easy to identify it is like a red top hat.

Get one from the stealer (if applicable) to your model and it will help identifying when you are looking at the back of the panel.

Could be that or of course something else entirely!
