190E dead spot and ABS prob

posting this one for a friend's car- 190E 1.8 auto- from what he tells me it's flooding and has a dead spot around 4000rpm where the power drops right off. His ABS light is also lit and not working.

If the engines dies at 4k in nuetral, that normal, if it dies at exactly 4k (cuts dead) when driving it should be the fuel pump relay, if it sputters and tries to keep going fuel pump.

ABS should be a OVR problem if it is faulty, it possibly could contribute to the first fault. Need more detail.

I agree with Malcolm. Sounds like the classic signs of faulty OVP relay. Harder starts and ABS light = OVP relay faulty.
