190E electric, heated Cosworth seat transplant

I've bought a full black leather Cosworth interior to put in my Arctic white 190E Sportline suspensioned car. Both the car & interior are in great nick and the leather seats will be a big plus for the car. I'm not HUGELY fond of white (bought the car on low mileage, condition, FMBSH, only 2 long term owners & S'line suspension), but with black leather I think it will look pretty good, especially with the Cosworth bucket seats.

The leather Sportline interior option cost a whopping £2,400 when new. The suspension & leather together were more than £4K, so VERY rare.

The car currently has standard black cloth seats (which are incidently like new - a testament to MB cloth). It SHOULD be a fairly straight forward in/out job as carpets etc are already the right colour, HOWEVER, the new seats are both heated and the driver's seat is electric.

I'm getting the door cards, seatbelts, switches, relays, wiring looms & everything else I should need to hook it all up to OE standard.

Has anyone any experience of doing this or does anyone know of a site which has diagrams, pictures, instructions or offers any guidence?

You will need to make sure that the seats are out of the same model of 190. The model with the plastic mouldings on it have different front seat sub frame mountings compared to the earlier 190 without the mouldings, but these can be easily changed over.

Thanks for that.

The Cosworth is an insurance write off so I can have what seat bits I need. I guess I should take the runners and everything that's bolted to the floor? Is that correct?

Both cars are 1990.

Yes the runners for the front seats [which I call the sub frame] is different on the face lift model roughly f reg onwards compared to the earlier ones.

Wouldn't I need the entire hydraulic self levelling set up from the Cosworth? I've had a couple of W201 2.6s and the ASD is a very handy option, but less necessary on the 2.0.

It'd be really hard work to fit the hydraulics. I would think the ASD would be fittable without the whole rear suspension but you never know with Mercedes!

If you've got access to the rest of bits on the car why not take all the running gear? Then would definitely have to fit the hydraulic pipework, pump & reservoir
