Hunting, an inconsistent idle speed?
Can be caused by an unstable fuel air ratio (generaly to weak a mixture), look for poor gaskets/Oseals on the inlet manifold, or poor fuel pressure stability in the injection system, and the vacuum servo or its vac pipe may have a leak.
It will not be easy to hear a leak on these parts.
Maybe its a job for an injection man to look at.
Beware, don't adjust any part of the injection system in the hope of curing the fault, it may be very difficult to get back to the correct adjustment.
Somthing badly wrong with the ignition system could be a possibility although such faults would most likely make differences whilst running on the roads.
If the rev counter idle is going up and down while it's hunting the OVP relay could be at fault. But ABS light would be on sometimes and it would be harder to start the engine sometimes too.

saw this posted by Pentoman on another 190 thread about idle:
For idle problems look at:
Coolant temperature sensor (4 pin at front of engine)
Fuel shutoff switch (on throttle linkage)
Throttle position sensor (Built into bottom of throttle body, 3 wires)
Idle Control Valve (Right side of engine as you look in, 2 pin plug, a clean sometimes helps but sometimes you've just gotta replace it)
You lost your key ? Or maybe you need a spare!
Your vehicle imobilliser does not respond anymore?
