I have a 1991 190E 2.0 Auto which has done 182K miles and has an engine in pretty good nick. I love driving the car and would hate to give it up, but I have a few small items that need doing to the car to tidy it up and bring it up to spec. The thing is the cars only worth a few hundred pounds, and as I'm not technically minded, I don't want to spend a fortune with someone getting it sorted. I would love to make it nice and clean! Anyone have an ideas of who or where I could take this to where I won't get ripped off and who might help me care for the car? I live in Kingston, Surrey.

nice 201 2.5D 1993 & very nice 129 SL500 1994
At this age all the rubber bits in the suspension could be tired there are loads of them so its not cheap to sort out fully (partial refurbisment is an alternative), your lower ball joints may be getting worn and should be thoroughly examined for wear and integrity or else a front wheel might fall off, and the shock absorbers will be past their best. The prop shaft couplings and engine mounts could also be tired and past their best.
Add to the above new brake disks and linings/pads to make it safer to use and you will have a good car if its not starting to rust.

As wireman said the 201 is a very well made car,,if the body is tidy its well worth doing and will give cheap motoring for some years to come
