Title says it all really, as the nights are starting to draw in again (!!) thought I'd ask if anyone has suggestions to improve this (main beam is OK).

I have seen bulbs at Halfords claiming to offer extra brightness etc, any thoughts on these?

Or other options.

Have you checked the level of the lights, are they pointing too low?

Also the condition of the reflectors at the back of the lights. If these are dirty or have started to go rusty then that will have a massive effect on the lights. Other than that i cant see why they would be so dim, unless the bulbs are faulty in some way?

Level is fine (0) on the adjustment control, reflectors are fine, one healamp is brand new (result of argument with a pheasant at 70mph) but the low beam penetration in comarison with my Wife's Fiesta is Crap!

Thanks, are they better than the Ice Blue on the same page?

Found the Xenon brighter than Ice blue but both are a real improvement on standard halogen.

Ahh, the old Euro headlight conversion. From what i can gather, the US style headlights on mercs are totally useless...all thanks to some daft US law dating back to the sixties.

Thanks, already have Euro headlamps, interesting article though. Hope to pick up some new bulbs this weekend.

All MB have golden glow headlights which produce less glare in rain and fog but are useless.  Upgrade to the  ultrabright white bulbs.

I fitted the Halfords high brightness bulbs some years ago, because I found the original bulbs so dim.  The Halfords ones have definitely been brighter.
