When I try to start a 190e auto I just get a click. Lights etc work so I assume it is a jammed or broken solenoid (correct?). Is it easy to get at and fixable? Any advice?
thanks

See earlier posts in 'ignition problem' by 42731. If my advice doesn't help then it's the solenoid, or a fault such as described by Myros. Another starter (from a breaker) in either case would be my course of action. Fairly straightforward, remove from below the car.
Good luck.

If you are getting a click the solenoid is working,so it must be the starter motor...Remove the starter motor and test it with jump leeds...........the solenoid is fitted to the starter motor.............Plenty of starter reconditioners about that will test it for free...
