190E US import with a host of gremlins

Hello everyone,

I have been given a 190E US Import 1992 2.3 4 cylinder petrol auto that at first I didn't like but have fallen for it! Only problem is there are some nagging faults which i'd love some help with :D

1) If you look at the fuse box, there are 2 silver relays above the fuses. The one on the left is 5 pin and I found it to be rather hot. If you remove it and touch the pins they will burn you. I noticed this with the ignition on but the engine not running. Is this normal?

2) All 4 electric windows work from the front switches but the rear windows won't work from the rear door switches. The switches and fuses are fine. So is the child lock switch. Any ideas?

3) The boot light does not work. Fuse ok. Switch ok. Bulb ok. Any ideas?

4)The US 190E has a six speaker system 2 dash speakers (working) 2 parcel shelf speakers (working) and 2 door bass speakers run from an amp in the boot (speakers not working). I have a duff original Merc radio cassette which when you switch on (and off) makes the door speakers click (you know the sort of clump you get when turning on an amp with the volume turned up). I have also tested the speaker leads from the amp and checked the voltage going to the amp. When I connect my other radio there is no click from the speakers is it because it doesn't have a secondary output? i.e. only 4 channels and no subwoofer output?

I know this is long-winded but I need all the help I can get.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or pics for a US spec 190 or such a set-up?

Thanks for reading and a big thanks to anyone who can help :D

some relays do get hot poss why some are metal & not plastic .the windows prob is child locks as for the boot light you will need a volt meter to test the circut start with the fuse holder for power & work back to the bulb

Its all in English and the fuse and relay boxes are shown so that you can identify the hot relays, just go halfway down the where it starts with BM

Ok, lets try a different approach!

I pulled out the radio and disconnected it. These are the wires that are hanging out of dash;

Loom 1 (in-line connector block)
red (+12v Constant)
Black/Yellow (+12v Switched) 2 wires going to 1 terminal
Grey/Blue (Illumination)
Brown (- Ground )

Loom 2 Connected to connector blocks) Speakers I guess?
Brown
Brown/Green
Black
Brown/Red

Loom 3 (other speakers I guess) (all connected to connector blocks except those mentioned)
Brown/Grey
Grey
Brown/Red
Brown
Black/Green (not connected)
Black (not connected
Black/Red (not connected)
Black (not connected)
Black on its own with 2 female spade connectors (not connected)

Loom 4 (in-line connector block)
Brown (pin 1 of terminal block)
Cream (pin 3)
Brown/Blue (pin 5) (plus female spade connector)
Brown/white (linking pin1 to pin 4 of terminal block)

Loom 5
Single blue wire

Loom 6
Single Black/Yellow wire

So all-in-all a lot of wires - please help - where should they all go?
