Hello, I am proud new owner of a 1970 280SE. It has sat since 1984 and only has 74K miles on it. I recently got it going and have driven it to work this week. The climate control dials (there are 4) are all broken off and decayed beyond recognition. I just ordered a new set. I have no idea where to start to replace these. I assume the whole dash needs to come out. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thank you.

not many of us with 1970s cars. A few are though. All MB heater knobs always pulled straight off in my experience. Certainly true of the 123/124//220/210 models so I don't see why yours should be different - but if not try posting a photo - may jog someones memory.
