Hi all,
just wondering whats the correct running temp. of the above? My guage hand reads just above the mark between 100 and 175 deg F (160ish?) 116 engine. Changed plugs points and condensor lately and seems to have developed a strange missfire. Runs fine normally but all of a sudden she looses all power for a split second and returns to normal running. I have also noticed that the 9volt resistor has been bypassed on the inner wing. Was this powering the ignition coil originally?

Thanks.
Mike

running temp

I also have a 72 350SL.

In normal use the temperature settles around the 160 mark. On a hard motorway run (69mph of course) on a hot day it goes up to the 200 mark. As soon as I return to more legal speeds it settles back to the 160 level.

Hope this helps

Mark.
