Hello,
Recently acquired a lovely 1978 280CE; USA model with a low compression engine that is pretty well plugged up with two pre catalysts, a main catalyst, and what seems to be a fairly quiet/restrictive air intake. Am thinking those two precatalyst should be removed and a K/N filter put into the airbox and that might make the engine breathe a bit better. More throttle response and little more power, maybe? Any ideas on this and where parts replacements might be acquired?
Stereo: I removed the stereo from my prior 1987 300D (w124). The fronts/rears both fit right into the stock holes using the stock grills on the W124; they are ADS A4 and A5 coaxial speakers. I am considering having a subwoofer professionaly installed into the trunk; thoughts in this exercise (other than to take out a loan)?
Regards and Happy New Year,
Carl
