Gentlemen...
I am the new owner of a 1980 450SEL which has 163,000 miles on an all original very well preserved car that has until I just purchsed it, spent it's entire life in the dessert southwest of the USA.
I just drove the car from Phoenix where I purchased it on E-bay to Nashville. The only problems I have with it are a VERY RICH fuel mixture which is accompanied by hard idling, and a vacuum issue which is causing the vacuum assist on the brakes not to work.
I am new to the MB line up and would like any advise as to what to check before spending untold sums to mechanics.
