1980 500se engine into 124 body?

Hi,
at present I have a 260e,with no engine sitting on my drive.I am about to be given a 500se :idea:
Must I stop this nonsense now,and grow up :?
The 260e has MOT,mean and black,question would be how much investment? No problem for time,but how much will swap?
thanks for any input,did search but found zilch,sure it's been done many times.

I have a W124 AMG in house factory conversion which is fitted with a M117 5.0 V8 and AMG quad cam heads.

The conversion to the engine bay is fairly significant......new front cross member (axle) and engine mounts, the firewall has been altered/made wider to accept transmission (S Class) and the wider engine.

All of the plumbing etc is also changed and located in other area's.

Not a conversion for the feint harted

Sorry, should also have mentioned that all suspension and brakes are S Class as well

Think that has just put me straight Such a beautiful engine in the 500,still eats the competition away from lights etc.Knew it was a dream in back of my head Thanks again
