Two of the camshaft lobes on the inlet camshaft have worn badly enough for the cylinders to be non-functional.
I plan to have the cam rebuilt and to replace all the followers on the inlet camshaft.
Has anyone any experience in a job of this nature?
I would really appreciate some guidance.
Thank you in anticipation.
Rod:)

It sounds like you are going to have some sort of heat process done to your cams. Being in your place I would source two new cams and have them re profiled (Grinding). Heat + Cams = expensive future breakdown.

Thanks Ian for the input. A question though, if I was to buy new cams, why would you suggest re-grinding? Am I missing something?

I have discovered that unlike other overhead cam engines I have worked on, on the Merc 110 engine. the whole head has to be removed in order to remove the camshafts! A bit more than I had bargained for.
