1982 230E, 190k,...thinking of buying...

Hello fellow Merc lovers

Im a merc virgin and have managed to hold onto my virginity for 36 yrs. I cant hold out any longer and have just spotted a very desirable 1982/3 (Y) merc 230E. Its automatic, has 190K on the clock and has a little rust on rear wheel arches.

Looks v genuine, Is this a good car and is it worth the £750 its up for?

Help relieve me of my frustration and tell me this is my car... :?

I'd suggest trying to push the price down a little.

we paid £500 for the 230E in this pic last november

it's a 1985, had 175k on the clock and a full merc service history.

I'm not saying £750 is unreasonable - but you can always try

Hi Paul, I have an 81 230E, 160K. I bought it as a spare car, but when I wrote off my Volvo, I used the Benz. I have been really happy with it and as I hate the standard company car "Vectra", I use it every day. It is reliable and very easy to work on. On the down side, I find the 2.3 a bit underpowered.
