Can anyone tell me where the flasher unit is on a 230T? I've found the hazard flasher unit in the centre consul, but can't find the left/right flasher unit - unless it's the same thing of course.

Thanks

Judging by the haynes manual, it's the same unit. It would have to be the same feed otherwise you would get all sorts of funny things happening if you turned on the hazards and the indicators at the same time.

What are the symptoms of your problem?

The Hazards work fine, but the indicators don't work at all.

Someone suggested I try working the hazard switch back and forth in case of a bad conection in the off state - no success.

The flasher unit under the centre consul near the ashtray has 3 pins.

Isn't it more likely to be the switchgear on the steering column? May just be a dodgy connection.

From the flasher unit, there is a feed that runs to the hazard warning light switch and also to the direction indicator switch. The feed isn't getting to the switch in the steering column.

If you turn on the hazards, the feed wire going to the steering column should be alternating between 12V and zero. If you have something like a probe with an LED it should be ideal to trace the fault.

The feed wire should be black/green/white.

My guess is the problem is in around the steering column.

Feedback - problem fixed

As advised the flasher unit under the centre consul is used for both hazards and indicators.

The problem turned out to be a faulty hazard switch. The red plastic rocker had become brittle with age and the actuators had broken at their ends.

The hazards worked OK but the broken switch rocker didn't provide enough movement to the switchgear beneath to make a clean connection to close the indicator circuit.

New switch from europarts.com part no. 462220010 HAZ.L.SWITCH - £11.07.

Thanks to everyone for their help
