I replaced my distributor cap and rotor, spark wires and plugs, and fuel filter two days ago. Starting today, a clicking noise has developed coming from the engine. It speeds up as I rev the engine. It seems to go away once I have driven for a few miles. I'm a novice when it comes to diagnosing a problem. Any ideas would be a great help.

Thanks in advance. :)

you might have a loose or blown plug

see this thread, as I have had similar troubles

As you have played with the ignition system, it is most likely to be there that the problem lies. It could also be an HT lead arcing out, they make a similar noise. Test for that by running the engine in the dark and having a look under the bonnet.

It could possibly be a lazy valve lifter as this is common. It taps until it get filled with oil.
