Yep, it's different. The front springs are a very strange layout, with one extra large loop at the bottom to go around the front drive shafts. The entire top of the suspension tower is different (heavier looking alloy setup). I suspect that the front end shares very few parts with the 2WD setup.
At the rear the springs also seem to be a bit longer. Not totally sure there but my ex had a 300TE 4-Matic and it sat higher than my 300TE 2wd all round. Feels different on the road too, slightly heavier and just a little bit more body roll.
