Just bought a 1989 200 4 door auto. Very pleased but the seat seems very springy (similar to a bus seat) should it be like this and is there anyway of stiffing the seat up.
Anyone any ideas on the cost of a replacement seat.

I FOUND THE SAME THING WHEN I BOUGHT MY 84 280E SEATS SEEM TO BE FROM OLD SOFA BUT CHECKING ABOUT (LOCAL SCRAP YARD ) ALL SEEMED TO BE THE SAME, NEED NEW DRIVERS SEAT HAD A PRICE FROM ? CANT REMEMBER WHERE BUT IT WAS SECOND HAND AND THE WANTED 110+VAT SO I WILL JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT FOR NOW

One of the reasons is that those seats are built with real springs instead of ''foam'' like any other ''lesser'' cars.
They are part of the ''comfort'' package.
