1990 500 SEC Starter motor

I'm having trouble nailing which one I need. An idiot on ebay said 'It will fit a treat' and then sent a LHD version. Can anyone clever let me have a part number? It would be deeply appreciated.

Thats why you should not trust ebay sellers, thier aim is to get the part sold.

Have you got the old one out, there will be a part no stamped on it,

failing that look on the likes of MB teile katalogue based on your vin.

Personally I wouldnt bother with a used one, they do have a lifetime.

Thanks for your response. The starter is still on the car unfortunately. I'm very grateful for the MB teilekatalogue lead except I can't for the life of me find a starter motor under any of those group headings. I don't suppose you'd be kind enough to point me at the right one?

Yes it is an electric motor with solenoids, they can be repaired/reconditioned surely.
