My 560 sec is idiling at approx. 1100 rpm when hot. What is causing this and could it be linked to the poor starting I have been experiencing (see my previous posts).

Regards
Mike

My guess would be an electrical fault of some kind in the idle control valve or circuit.

My reason for thinking this is based on the principle that when the ECU detects a fault in the idle circuit it bypasses the system and runs the engine via the throttle at 1100 rpm. There are numerous other reasons for a high idle but the engine running at this rpm would suggest something electrical.

Removing and reconnecting the power to the valve will confirm if there is a problem in the valve but not in the circuit itself if that is the problem.

Good luck.

Cheers Ant. Bit new to this motor but could you tell me where the idle control valve is located?
Thanks again
Mike
