Well some would say the w124 is better built, it has more interior space and a bigger boot if thats important (and can be bought as an estate).
The 190e with a 2.3 will be somewhat quicker as its lighter but that may not be an issue in HK! If I was starting fresh I'd buy a W124 myself.
