Hello All,

Before I begin I must say that this is my first MB owned and even with this problem I am so impressed with this car! It may be older but it's reliable.
OK now to the problem which started recently. when I start the car the idle shoots up to 4000 RPM and doesn't go down. I checked simple things like the throttle linkage and I followed it to where it goes underneath the intake assembly and I can see a piece with an attached spring that goes down somewhere(?) and on that same piece I see a round ball on top of it. It looks as if something should be attached to it? I just figured that it may have fallen off. I'm not familiar with this injection system except for that it's made by Bosch. Any info about this problem or tech. specs would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers!

The problem sounds like the micro-switch wheel is'nt resting against the metal bit. I had this problem one morning and then remembered I had been fiddling with the throttle cable adjuster (black plastic thread).

Mike.
