1991 R129 500SL Anti Roll Bar

Hi Everyone,

My Anti Roll Bar system has now packed up.
The roll bar switch on the R/H side of the centre console is illuminated and so is the large roof control switch (the large red one).
As a result I cannot raise my soft top.

I've checked all the connections to the switches, the roll bar control unit and the roll bar valve block and of course all the fuses.

I'm begining to think it's the roll bar control unit or the soft top control unit.

Any suggestions before I have to take the car to the dealer (something I would rarther avoid)

don't know anything about W129s, but vacuum systems seem to be quite prevalent in other breeds of merc for keeping things in place or not, as the case may be?

just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't think the vacuum system has much to do with the soft top. All the vacuum operated systems seem to be working OK.
