Nothing much to worry outside the normal stuff like service history etc.

Do however check for signs of headgasket leakage and make sure the gearbox changes smoothly up and down throughout the range and that all electronics work, especially ABS, air con and anything else you can think of & make sure there are no airbag warning lights etc.

There's nothing more expensive than a 'cheap' Mercedes Benz....

Hi! thanks for the reply. Can you also tell me if it is a problem if steering wheel moves freely for about half an inch to each side when the motor is not running.
And ABS light is permanently on, according to owner because of the short circuit he made.

Thanks

Steering sounds about normal but make sure its ok once moving.

As for ABS not working, you need to find out whats going on as it could be very costly.

You could try disconnecting the battery for a while (make sure you know the radio code first) maybe it will clear the ABS light.. also check the fuses etc. If nothing shows up, you may wish to get the seller to agree to sort it before the sale.

The ABS system is controlled through the OverVoltage Protection (OVP)Relay. This looks like a normal, tall, relay module with a fuse fitted on top (the only relay like that). Most likely the fuse has gone and replacing it will restore niormal ABS function. If not, then it could be the relay itself, or something more expensive....

I checked the car by local MB specialist, wich was reccomended by coworker. When he saw the car, he started to smile! He maintained the car since it was new. He replaces the fuse for ABS, lift the car and checked everything.
So in monday I will be new MB owner. (I will switch from Hyundai Accent to MB  )
My wife though asked me if I'm crazy. I answered YES!
