1993 220 TE (W124) Accelerator pedal

Can any one help please ?
My wife cannot reach the accelerator pedal easily and is pressing the pedal at the base (the fulcrum/hinge) which means uncomfortable, non-sensitive and heavy effort required
I am looking to replace the present floor hinged accelerator pedal with a standard (I think they are called "pendant") type
Is there any Mercedes model that offers this type of pedal that I could source from a breakers yard ( I assume a Mercedes model pedal would be easier to adapt than from a general model car )
Any help would be appreciated

Agreed - if she can't reach the accelerator then the brake is going to be a problem.
In any case, all merc cars have a floor mounted pedal so there are no other versions to switch to. I guess you could make some form of pad to make the pedal thicker but I would still be very concerned that if she can't reach the accelerator comfortably, the brake in an emergency could be a serious issue.
Are you sure the seat is going all the way forward? My Mrs is only 5' and she has driven all my mercs with ease and without the seat having to go to its maximum position.

thanks for your speedy responses - I had assumed the seat was as far forward as it would go but in view of your comments will check thoroughly.
Incidentally she had the same problem after I had restored my 1964 Daimler Mk II - until I converted it to an elongated pendant pedal - (she has no problem with the brake)

Also there is probably an adjuster for the front of the seat to go lower, which may help.

Your front seat has two fore and aft slides one is flat the other inclined, this allows height adjustment. The loop handle next to your hip is for the inclined (~up/down) slide, the one at the front is for the flat slide, if either of these slides is at its rearwards end you will not get very near to the pedals. A rotary knob on the side of the seat below your thigh is for seat tilt. The knob on the seat back adjusts the seat angle (pushed in) and the head rest height when pulled out.
On my old tub the slides were very stiff and did not move well to the extremity of travel, when the seats were removed to get at some other bits I oiled and cleaned up the old grease in the slides and got realy nice easy to move seats for little effort.
