Mine is a similar problem to others posts. Flat battery recharged/reconnected sets off alarm but neither of my remotes will deactivate. Replaced batteries and tried all previously mentioned remote key button pressing to no avail. Same response having spoken to Scorpion about removing unit from under dash and sending for reprograming. Only way to start car is to insert key in ignition, turn to position 2 and disconnect/reconnect battery negative terminal immediately alarm pauses. However, alarm sounds immediately on switching off ignition. No details of scorpion model, no user manual either so if Pascal moderator can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds to me like you need a good auto electrician/alarm fitter to take that old Scorpion unit out. This is not such a big deal, and if you get them to supply and fit a replacement unit for you, will not even be a vastly expensive exercise. Some of these systems are getting old now, and ten years is probably a pretty good life for any of them.

try holding the lock/unlock button on the remote down for at least 10secs.
Making sure you are well within normal range, this should sync the remote & the alarm. my dad had a w124 with the scorpion alarm & needed to do this quite often.

hope that helps
