1993 500 SEL With No Instruments Working On The Dash Board

Dear Sir,
My recently aquired 500 SEL, 1993 with 87K in mileage, sat for 6 months in a closed garage. After starting the car and charging the battery, none of the dash board instruments work and the radio continues to blink "code required." What can I do? Apparently, the fuses work fine. Help anywhere?
